Everything was silent in its presence. Even the wind. That night, the birds did not sleep. As thousands of crows circled silently in the sky, a name whispered in the wind: “Korrum.” This name was forgotten. Because everyone wanted it forgotten. But some names are called only when they are forgotten. Korrum was not a legend, but a price. Hundreds of years ago, the dark sins of the people had taken shape, shaped not as justice, but as revenge. He was never killed. Only sealed. When the moon completes its circle, the seal is broken. And that night… that was that night. The first scream came from the old baker. They found him in the oven in the morning, his hands burnt like coals. Then the children told of a dark figure calling them by name in their dreams. And finally… the town bell rang, even though no one had rung. Three times. A sound that shattered the silence, echoing like a flock of crows. Marek, the town's wise old man, knew these signs. He opened his book and flipped through the pages. In a dusty passage were these lines: "When Korrum comes, the crows circle, the moon waxes, the silent speak. And darkness walks." That night, darkness did walk. It wasn't a shadow, it was a presence. His long hooded cloak merged with the ground, rotting the earth with every step. His face was distorted, a mask bearing all the regrets of the past. His bright red eyes recalled the dead. The Call of the Night wasn't just an arrival; it was a reminder. "Everything you forget will find you one day," Korrum said.
Korrum did not speak. His language was the birds. Thousands of crows carried his words, shouting across the sky. “I remind those who forget me of the night.” The townspeople fled, hiding. But Korrum could see what was hidden in their hearts. Who buried whom, who sold whom, who forgot whom… all of it. As the night wore on, his shadow crept everywhere. The streetlights went out. The mirrors darkened. And finally, the town gate opened of its own accord. Korrum entered. There, an altar woven with the sins of the past. As he approached, the crows screeched. And one sentence echoed through the town’s four corners: “First you called, then you forgot. Now it is time to listen.” From that moment on, nothing remained the same. The town fell silent. The moon waned again. But the nights… grew darker. For the Call of the Night had been made. And that call could never be undone.
